    I think it's all about the watch Holly gets from Nakamura - something McLain could never afford. But when the watch clasp fails and Gruber plummets to his death, it shows that Christmas isn't about material things.

    I haven’t heard a reason to disqualify “Die Hard” that wouldn’t also disqualify “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

    Everybody always remembers the feel-good last fifteen minutes of that movie. Nobody does the bleak depressing world-view of most of it... until they watch it again.
