The NFL will let you damage your brain, your body and your off-field repuatation - they just can't let you tarnish the shield by taking a knee.

Jerry Jones playing grab ass with everyone’s daughter and granddaughter is why they practice so damn hard

Falcons bringing back Quinn and Dimitrioff - probably be lower than the usual 6 coaching changes this year. Don't see more than two additional changes.

It's not just a matter of being stupid. There are allegations of rape and sexual harassment. That said, the NFL is way out of line in dragging its feet on the investigation of Brown.

Karma hit Dez Bryant. Maybe it'll hit Antonio Brown too.

Brett Favre is not one of the ten best QBs of history, no matter what NFL Network says. A great player, yes. One of the 10? No. This is no slur. The 101-200 top players in NFL history are pretty fucking amazing, too.

It's funny that the Saints think they need more offense.

If the league lets Brown play, it's like FREE extra offense.

The NFL's list of its top 10 quarterbacks of all-time does not include the guy who holds the league's career records for passing yardage and touchdowns?
I get they had a couple of no-brainers they had to include, and had to include a few from older eras, but damn. Brees is a better choice than Favre, right? Same number of rings, better stats, just as many highs without the embarrassing lows.

Agreed. Brees, Starr, Luckman, Bobby Layne, I'd put all of them ahead of Favre. But I think there was a tacit understanding with Belichick that Brady would be the only active QB picked.

Looking at the list -- Sammy Baugh, Tom Brady, John Elway, Brett Favre, Otto Graham, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Roger Staubach, Johnny Unitas -- you can see what they tried to do as far as the eras go. And these arguments always have some mix of about 10 players that are interchangeable to some degree.
So the question would be, is Brees a better choice than Favre, Marino or Elway, who might give the 1980s and 90s some over-representation?
I'd say he's been better than at least two of those three. His career pretty much parallels Favre and Marino (tons of stats, a surprising lack of championships), except he's surpassed them both. Hell, he was more or less a contemporary of Favre.

Here is the NFL's reasoning for leaving Brees off, which rings a bit hollow. After an 18-year career where he was on track to shatter Manning's records barring a catastrophic injury, I don't think you can say you're unable to evaluate his unfinished career.
