He was great, hung on too long and stopped being funny and subversive his last 10-15 years. But his first incarnation in NY he was great. Better than Stern.

Just heard the news. He was the shit in the 1990s. Not the shock jock Stern was — he tried to up his game and it bit him in the end. RIP.

I’m sure those nappy headed hos in New Brunswick felt he hadn’t upped his game enough.

Surprised he was residing in Aggieland. His New Mexico ranch and his associated charity were topic-starters on his radio show.

I mostly remember the women of MSNBC and Fox who were treated like shit when they worked for him

    This sucks.
I was a huge Imus fan.
Him and Charles were awesome together, as well as him and McShane.
I'll take Imus, Shannon, Wolfman Jack and Charlie Tuna.
    You can have the field.
    RIP

This is the first Imus I ever heard. The local college radio station played this, off of his LP "1200 Hamburgers to go", from 1972. For perspective, this was so long ago that McDonalds didn't serve breakfast.

    Rest.

My first exposure was when he was a VH1 host and would do things like refer to the band he'd just played as "Air Bag Supply" or call Lionel Ritchie "The Most Dangerous Man in America." Thirty-some years later he still seems like a very odd choice for that gig.

MSNBC/Imus was the strangest pairing since the 46 defense/Run and Shoot on the 1993 Oilers

I love love LOVE old big city radio like that.
The 2 minute live read and the United jingle. That's awesome.
