I’m a conservative in a few areas - abortion - but in many areas not. And lord knows I’m not voting for Trump.

But this thread has fallen apart. There aren’t really any ideas being debated here or many conversations about even, well, politics. It’s mostly tweets, supplemented with a few clearly broken souls using this thread as a kind of outlet to work through brokenness, which is probably not the best use of it, and, eventually, I’d think some real asshole weirdo trolls - the far right kind - are gonna find it and turn it into a real shitshow. Doc’s phony 401k posts will look quaint by comparison.

Conservative on abortion without being pro-life on any other issue is deplorable, hypocritical and oppressive. It’s generally the sign of myopic, trump like, thinking and makes the person who offers other opinions unworthy of respect.
If it’s ok for the government to say you can’t abort a fetus becaause it’s a human life but at the same time deny that the government has a responsibility to provide medical care for an 18 month old leukemia patient, that is the height of cruelty
