Sports dates in ink on the calendar: Boston Marathon on Patriots' Day, Kentucky Derby on the first Saturday in May, Indy 500 on Memorial Day weekend and the AFC South champion hosting the first Wild Card game on a Saturday afternoon.

Shades of Dan Bunz and Pete Johnson.

Second week in a row they've had a mind boggling, expensive, wildly unacceptable delay of game penalty.

I'm starting to wonder if it's time for Carroll to move on. I'm not even sure he's paying attention to the game at times.

Ryan Tannehill was better this year than Mariota has been for any time in his NFL career.

    That’s not a sentence I thought I’d write.

You think it's because he finally "got it" and stayed healthy, was freed from Adam Gase or both?

He doesn’t manage a game well but he keeps the energy flowing in the locker room and gets along with the QB. Mike Tomlin is the same way.

There’s some evidence that, past 30, QBs know the game in a way that makes them better than they were at 25.

I do think Vrabel and his staff is better than Adam Gase.

I never thought I’d read a sentence like that.

Raiders doubled the yardage of the Broncos and still lose. That game was a brutal watch. Part of me thinks if they just get a sure-handed receiver and a tight end who can get open, and some DBs who can cover receivers they'll be okay. Another part of me thinks the team will just continue to make just enough dumb mistakes to cost them winnable games.

Beast running game and talented receivers help. I don’t know much about their o-line, but I’m guessing it’s good, too.

Miami’s locker room was a shit show a few years ago, also.

First time since 2011 that a 13-3 team has to play in a wild card game ... and it was the Saints that year, too. Lost in SF in round 2.

One thing about Tannehill. He's had more success against the Pats than a lot of other QBs, mostly due to the weird cloud that hangs over the Patriots in Miami, but it's still a positive energy for him.
