And most are failing to point out one of the guys shot at close range by a shotgun was fumbling around with his pistol, while the guy who stopped the shooter was a trained LEO and firearms instructor. Instead, they're framing it as just another armed citizen who was no different than anybody else who tucks a Glock into their waistband before leaving the house. And that's just wrong.

    Yeah, I noticed that, too.

Our church has discussed “armed personnel.” I’m the biggest male opponent. Lots of women want nothing to do with it. They’re the smart ones.

How do they define "armed personnel?" We have two uniformed (but off-duty) police officers at church every Sunday. Individual members who are not LEOs are not allowed to carry.

If the money changers in the temple would have been armed, Easter would have arrived a bit early.

    The Bible is clear.

Jesus would want someone at church strapped and ready to ventilate any troublemakers.

Not police officers. Congregants with permits.

I wouldn't want off-duty cops, either. Nope. Respect cops as far they go, don't want em in a service. Too many police in too many places as is.

Are the congregants going to be required to have active shooter or combat shooting training? Because Joe Bob going to the range once per month and firing at stationary paper targets from 10 yards doesn't prepare somebody with a concealed carry permit to confront a shooter.

Heck, even LEOs aren't very good in a gunfight - hitting with just 35-percent of the shots fired according to a 15-year study of the Dallas PD's officer-involved shootings. But somebody with even less training and experience? Yeeeesh.

Where my cousin goes has guys standing by the doorways during Sunday service. They all conceal carry. I think it's a reaction by a bunch of Fox News watchers. I've told him if I was that afraid, I'd just stay home.
