    Are you counting the years as the end of the NBA and NHL seasons or the beginning? If it's the latter, 1972 Philadelphia is over 200, thanks to the 2-11-1 Eagles, the 59-97 Phillies and the 9-73 Sixers.

    I used the end. Best for my sanity when looking at this.

    So it would be 1980 Cubs, Bears and 79-80 Blackhawks and Bulls.

    White Sox were a robust 70-90 compared to the Cubs 64-98

    Using that metric, 1973 Philadelphia comes in at 186, due to the Phils and Eagles soaring to 71-91 and 5-8-1 records respectively.

    I don't know if I am doing it right, but the seasons ending in 2000 were pretty bad for Boston.

    Boston 2000 - 173.5 without considering ties in hockey, which would add 10 losses.
