I actually don’t believe in mass student debt loan cancellation - I think far fewer people should go to college, actually, because not that many jobs (including journalism) require it - but the guy here is little more than a legalist. Not that I fail to appreciate the appeal of legalism. In a culture increasingly built on beauty and coolness and emotional appeal, legalism -Warren trades in it too - has power. “Do these 5 things and you will x,y,z.” One of the reasons I reject is precisely because there is always someone out there who looks at the responsibility of a person and calls it privilege, and aims to create a system whereby only grace is necessary. This works in an existential way - ie Jesus - but less so this side of heaven.

 

So half have already returned to active duty. What of the other half? How long will they be out?
I do agree that the term Traumatic Brain Injury can be misleading. Sounds like it can range from concussion all the way to long-term loss of function. The first time I heard it, I presumed it referred only to catastrophic situations.

I had completely forgotten about that asinine epithet --liddle'. Another example of this juvenile yam's unfitness for the office he tragically holds. Meanwhile, 42 percent of the country cheers. And oh, another tweet saturated with projection.

 

The Republican Senators don't need an excuse to acquit. The defense is just to provide Fox with 10 months of talking points. Look, it's all of a piece. Trump is a complete asshole, so to defend or even support him, you have to become more of an asshole than you were before. The longer you do it, the bigger an asshole you become. So America now has about 60 million adults who're assholes who enjoy it and are proud of it.

Why are our elected officials and cabinet members and government officials all so fucking stupid? Seriously, what the fuck happened to our country?
