The history of Presidents trying to primary Senators indicates this ain't so. What President was more popular than FDR? When he tried it in 1938 he got his ass handed to him. Besides, a vote for witnesses is a free vote. The Trumpist base won't believe them anyway, so they won't get that mad about it as long as the Senators then votes to acquit. To me, the most interesting group of Republican Senators are the Class of 2016, people like Portman, Toomey, Ron Johnson, and Rubio. Are they smart enough to realize it's in their best interests to see Trump go down in 2020 if they can leave their fingerprints off it? If he wins, they'll be up in the six-year midterm cycle that's almost always a disaster for the incumbent's party.

Mitt won't get primaried if he dumps Fatfuck. If he does, he'll win. Trump's approval rating in Utah is in the low 30s.

Yeah. I'm an old. I cling to hope that the ideals and promise of the America that I was raised to believe in have not gone extinct - although the Republican party's reaction to climate change taxes that hope. Sigh.

I saw an article this morning about how the Mormons are not buying Trump's Pied Piper act. Evangelicals can follow him if they want to, but those folks see plainly what Trump is and are backing away.

Ken Starr is talking about how Senators have an oath to do impartial justice. Uhhhh, not sure that’s the best direction to take this one, Ken.

The holy roller Billy Bob Shiite Babtist KKKxtian evangelical jeezus freaks (ie Jeffress, Paula White) have long considered Mormons as cultists, about on the same level as the Whore of Babylon Cathlics.

If that bunch takes over, the Mormons know which side of the barbed wire fences they'll end up on.
