Cute stat. Kobe is 3rd All Time in shots attempted. 1st All Time in shots missed.
He followed Michael Jordan’s and Ron Jeremy’s advise more than they took their own. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.

I think all of these takes on Kobe are reasonable and measured. My only point on Sunday -- two hours after the news broke -- was that many were still processing the shock and gathering salient information. There's certainly a time to dissect and discuss his legacy--good, bad and ugly. I just didn't think it was right then. And I agree, the 24-hour wall-to-wall ESPN fawning is a little much. People talking about changing the NBA logo to Kobe, give me a break.

This reminds me of JFK Jr. going down in the airplane decades ago.

Except this helicopter pilot was actually instrument rated. It’s even more baffling when you consider how you can slow down to a very reasonable speed and also hover in a helicopter, and yet he did the exact opposite

For legal reasons, the NBA has never officially acknowledged the current logo is West.

You officially make it Kobe, and his estate can demand the compensation that West never received.

I detected a certain peer pressure to participate in the idol worship on Monday, and that wasn't happening.

Life isn't always about second chances - sometimes you gotta get it right the first time. Bryant didn't do that with the choices he made in Eagle.

Maybe they should make the Academy Award Statue, Oscar, resemble Heath Ledger or Seymour Philip Hoffman?

Similar to PGA Tour logo IIRC. It sure looks like Jack, but it's never been confirmed officially.

The NBA logo should be a black athlete. I’m unsure about Kobe because of Colorado.

The designer considered Kareem and Wilt, but he ran across a photo of West that captured his idea for the logo perfectly.
