I didn't know that was an option.

 

It's not that uncommon. Either things get delayed or the person gets dragged in, depending on the case. They just delayed hers.

It's not an effective strategy unless you really, really like jail.

 

I think SNL writers have been mining this thread for material. They just had Trump admit to cheating at golf and saying he weighed more than 400 pounds.

 

I don't think the Founding Fathers envisioned an era in which Senators would need millions to win re-election. But how does this loophole still exist?
POTUS is bribing his jury. As long as federal officers subject to impeachment and removal are able to give to those indicting or trying them, there's an obvious conflict of interest at risk.

 

I didn’t know ignoring Congressional subpoenas or having impeachment trials without witnesses was an option, either, but here we are. The United States of America in 2020.
