I can't understand how anyone can listen to this guy and go, "Yup - this is the person I want in charge."

It's the foundation of a potential strategy, but let's see if the Democrats have the ground game in place to carry whoever wins the nomination to a win in November. Or, will they spend so much time and energy on infighting that they still don't get the turnout they need in the upper Midwest?

I don't think there's much infighting among the rank and file, just at the activist/donor level.

Obama's disapproval rating in 2012 at the same time was 45%. Approval at 47%.

    So Obama's polling was better?

    I agree.

There are a lot of activists and donors in the party, man. The Democrats have tried their level best to ditch their "rank and file" with ever-more-stringent purity tests.

It's Gallup. They're calling home landline numbers.

    His approval rating was lower.

But, by your logic - which is what we're using here - if 45% disapproves, you must not be a very good president. Is that how this works?

It would be very Trump to say or do something egregiously stupid in the time between now and the election, when if he could just stay calm he'd win against a fractured Dem field.

Can you name another President whose approval rating never cracked 50%?
