The point from the article is that Northern “elites” shouldn’t be looking down on the Southern “rubes.” I just gave one example of how northerners are justified in doing so.

You brought up other states. Fine. Take a look at the graduation rates of Rutgers, Illinois, Cal-Berkeley compared to LSU. New York only has one state university with a FBS team and they’re a mid-major. It’s about priorities.

Those other states, while football is important, prioritize graduations. New York doesn’t prioritize football. Louisiana, meanwhile, prioritizes football over graduation.
