And I think some of Sanders' rhetoric is inane, which is why I've preferred the more pragmatic, incremental progressive change touted by Warren. But just because he says stupid things or makes ineloquent comparisons doesn't mean the core of the ideas like nationalized healthcare bad.

    Understood.

But this is not the time to sort through sloppy arguments.

At least it's obvious Sanders isn't just saying shit to get elected. He believes this stuff.

These folks bray about unity and consensus and then stake out positions that make that impossible.

If Bernie gets the nomination and wins the White House, but doesn't flip the Senate, NOTHING NOTHING NOTHING he or his fanbois want will get past Congress. Nothing. Ever.

Since he'll never get any GOP votes for anything and will constantly be at battle with purple dog DINOs and moderates, he'd probably set a WH record for overriden vetoes.

Under a Biden administration, SOME ideas of the Bernie wing will at least make it to the table. Plus Biden will have coattails, and a fighting chance for the Senate.

Just as in Trump's mind it's always 1981, in Sanders' mind it's always 1958 and he's winning dorm room arguments.
Case in fucking point: Sanders wins Nevada. He's got a window where he's the heavy favorite. So he goes on 60 Minutes. Does he try to win over the rest of the party. No! He talks about fucking Fidel Castro, because that was a big deal back when he was young.

There's also this - the younguns aren't turning out for these primaries the way some have expected.

Usually low turnout for sure. But with school and work, I do want to wait until the final numbers are in.

I scanned through this and haven't seen anyone mention the amount of verbal gaffes and mental miscues Biden has had recently. Doesn't that make you wonder if he'd be competent enough? People seem to pound on previous candidates for much less grievances.

Let's not pretend that if Bernie is elected but doesn't have the support of Congress nothing gets done; Have you seen how Trump's dismantled the federal agencies and the federal judiciary? The election of the president is HUGE and has a huge impact on our government, all voters please keep that in mind.

Biden has always been prone to stick his foot in his mouth, so people might brush it off as more of the same rather than any new concern about his mental acuity and fitness.

Of note as results start to come in - part of Sanders' appeal was his supposed ability to get new, younger voters engaged and showing up to vote.

That's, uh, not happening. As much as I might prefer some of the more progressive policies, Biden would be stronger in the general election if the electorate doesn't get younger like Sanders has promoted.
