Yep. He thought the field would thin TODAY. And so did everyone else five days ago. Until the DNC unloaded the ban hammer on Pete and Amy.

I know I've said this a half-dozen times. Presidents and ex-presidents don't endorse anybody until the race is for all intents and purposes OVER. They bat 1.000 on endorsements because they demand it be a sure thing. They don't want to nominate X, then see Y earn the nomination, and have "your own former president didn't even endorse you" dogging Y through the campaign in the general election.

Want to know when Obama endorsed Hillary?

It's not just the campaign, it's his almost total absence from the stage. He's a non-entity, which is a freaking shame.

I get your point, but it's pretty awful that he's not campaigning for his former VP. That's like a non-endorsement in itself.

BTW, Bill Clinton endorsed Al Gore before the primaries even started -- and that was after all the impeachment crap and Gore distancing himself.

    Clinton Endorses, Praises Gore

    Every standard bearer is different.

Bush was endorsed by Reagan while flagging a bit.

Remember the last election, when the DNC was accused by the Berners of putting a thumb on the scales, and because "the establishment ignored the peoples wishes" Hillary got nominated and all the Bernie Boys either stayed home or voted for Trump/Jill Stein and Trump was elected? If Obama comes out for anyone but Bernie you'll hear the exact same thing, and they'll take their ball and go home. He's staying out until the nominee is settled, then he'll support them.

Pretty sure Obama has been doing plenty. The field consolidation didn’t happen by chance.

Gore faced only token opposition by Bill Bradley, the Bernie Sanders of his day (he's still younger than Bernie and Joe). Played a little basketball too.

Curious to hear from Warren supporters. Despite Warren having policies closer to Sanders, I get the impression from most Warren supporters I know that they are less likely to support Sanders if there is another option if they can't vote for her. Is this an accurate assessment?

The phone call was extortion of a foreign government official, which breaks down to two separate felonies that will still be prosecutable next February.

I have to figure that Warren supporters (full disclosure - like me) were ok with at least a large portion of Bernie's positions, but either didn't like him personally or felt that his negatives outweighed that agreement.
