Warren wasn't repudiated by voters, she just didn't strike a spark. A lot of the initial entrants were good candidates who'd have made competent Presidents and that happened to them as well. Running for President is hard.

Sad to see her go. She had my vote. She not only understood problems, she had solutions. Will America ever be ready for a female president?

It seems that voters in the democratic primaries made a decision that this election isn’t about policy direction but about the best path available to defeating American fascism. Bernie doesn’t get it. His policy choices are a minority of all voters. Trumps policies are maybe at best, a plurality but not a majority.

Biden, as imperfect as he can be, is the best opportunity to defeat orange hitler

My feeling is yes. Too much nervousness in 2020 about a female candidate, based on 2016. Warren was clearly the smartest person on the stage in the debates and had great ideas (I loved her proposal to require worker's reps on every corporate board of directors).

Even those in MA? Not looking to pick a fight but third in her home state seems to be some more than not striking a spark.

She had my vote as well, but it was extremely close between her and Biden for me. To answer your question, my guess is that Biden will select a female VP candidate and if he wins, he'll a one-term president. So it seems like said pick would be a natural choice to run in 2024.

@heyabbott , this is not directed at you, but just a general question: WHY is Joe Biden, of all people, the best opportunity to defeat the Current Occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.? Is it name recognition? The Obama connection? Years of experience?

Yes, I'm pulling the virtual lever for Blue No Matter Who in November, but I'm still not convinced that Biden is the "best opportunity" other than that he's the one about whom people seem to be least concerned. I guess if this election is JUST about ejecting the Current Occupant, well, OK. But it's sad that it's come to that.

I mean, that's it, really. With a lot of people.

    But of course ...

Pompeo says US will shield troops from international war-crimes probe

WASHINGTON – Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Thursday the Trump administration would take "all necessary measures" to shield U.S. military and other personnel from a war-crimes investigation by the International Criminal Court.
The international court, based in the Hague, ruled on Thursday that its prosecutors could move forward with an investigation into possible war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the Taliban, Afghan forces and American military and CIA personnel.
"This is a truly breathtaking action by an unaccountable political institution masquerading as a legal body," Pompeo told reporters at the State Department.

In that last bit, is he talking about the Trump administration?

The dynamic of the race has changed since Tuesday, so I’m not sure any polling before that applies now.

Florida, Ohio, Arizona and Illinois vote March 17. That’s going to be a BFH† coming right down on Bernie’s thumb. He will insist on going all the way through the process yet again, but I’m not sure he will have a realistic pathway forward after St. Patrick’s Day.

It's like this, at least to me.

You're never going to yank the direction of the country hard left or right. People don't like yanks. They're not comcortable with swift change. Hell, a good portion of them never left the area they were raised because they fear change. Obama and the ACA and same-sex marriage represented a yank to many of these people that voted for Trump as a yank back.

It needs to be a nudge. The Republicans have gotten to where they are now with 40 years of nudging since Reagan. "Psst. I see you're union. Also see you lost your job. How'd that work for you? Come join us instead..." "Hey, I see you're blue collar but also like to hunt. See those guys wanna take your guns? Come join us..." "I know you're union but I also see you're Catholic. No way you favor Roe Vee Wade, right?"

Bernie represents a yank. Biden doesn't.
