First, thank God for more adults who actually want to help with the children's service. A lot of them don't. (Frankly, I don't.)

Second, I'm kind of an ass, so what I'm about to write is kind of assy.

Could you mean to say if someone's atheism works for you?

I mean, if an atheist accuses you of filling those kids' heads with garbage, calls you a child abuser for doing so, that might well work for him. I doubt it'd be "fine" unless you're leaning hard into the Romans 5 passage.

On the flip side, I appreciate that many Christian churches teach there are multiple ways to the afterlife and being "good" is key - moralistic therapeutic deism - but it's questionable whether a hardcore atheist who doesn't see any point in religion fits easily under that definition.

(I didn't note agnostics in the question, FWIW.)

We get it. You're going through something awful so you are angry at G-d and anybody else you can blame. While I sympathize, that does not excuse your boorish posting on this thread. I stand by my argument that non-believers have a place in this discussion, but that place is not to shit on people who have faith. Your posts on this thread serve no purpose other than to vent your own anger and pain at the expense of others.

Just because someone is an atheist doesn't mean they are ignorant of religion. It sure sounds like you are suggesting that an atheism must come from a place of ignorance, which is idiotic and disrespectful.

What do you think holy water is?

The claim is that it is a reminder of baptism, of being cleansed of venial sin, and a protection from evil.

It's not something that grants superpowers and a cure from disease.

Correct. Which is why they shouldn’t go around calling it holy. It’s not.

Didn’t say they were ignorant. I would say it’s pretty arrogant to reject all gods and religions if all’s you know is 2 of the 1000.

A protection from evil but not from a virus? How impotent is your god? Or is it false hope spread to separate you from your money so the church leaders can cavort with wine and satiate their lustful desires, all the while controlling your life to conform the images that make their lives better.

Again, when use your faith to enjoy your life all the better. But when someone uses their fake personal philosophy to cause people to lose their jobs or when your fake evil beliefs cause the sick to die because your brand of hate says embryonic stem cell research is against your fairytale belief structure than I’ll shit on your god until it offers me a personal reason why I shouldn’t. Gays are second class citizens or less because god wills it for 100,000,000 million Americans. Those who believe that don’t deserve the courtesy of even token respect. Don’t want birth control, don’t use it. But don’t hoist your well told tales as truth to hurt others.

    Branding, bro.

Is a virus evil? It just is.

Actually, according to many learned Christian scholars and leaders a virus is an instrument god uses to punish evil. See HIV

Trump and Trumpian heresy is good enough reason to question the sincerity of anyone who calls themselves 'a good Christian.'

In that regard he has been of public service. Sort of.
