Muh Muh Muh My Corona (virus)

Of all of the things I want to do in my life, going on a cruise is not one of them. That sounds like a nightmare.

 

I just went through the drive through at my local Chik-fil-A. It's always busy, and as is often the case there were a couple of employees with tablets taking orders and swiping cards. As she came toward me to take my order, I realized that I was eyeing her speculatively, thinking how many people she could infect in a single day. Then as she took my order I saw that she was wearing clear plastic food prep gloves as she handled other people's credit cards. I'm (sorta halfassed) worried about one person and she's dealing with hundreds of chances to be infected every day.

 

Cruise ships, nah that. Just for meals too many people touch the food.

 

I've finally trained myself to not scratch my face like the CDC suggests...it's the reactions of the strangers I ask to do it for me that will take some getting used to.

 

As I read that I realized that I was sitting there with my chin in my hand, rubbing the bridge of my nose with my forefinger. It's really hard not to touch your face/mouth/nose. Most of us do it all the time unconsciously.

 

I saw Alcatraz in the background when CNN was doing a report on this ship today and thought, "Why the hell not? It was good enough for Al Capone."

 

Yeah, another tweet ... but good info here for anyone reporting this.

Years ago I saw a Mets game with a friend and his young kids. After, as we're driving, his daughter has to go. Bad. We drive into the first gas station we see. We rush to the bathroom which, the attendant told us, HAD JUST BEEN RENOVATED, Seriously, it was brand new and sparkling clean, and we were the first to use it.
