Go look at the NYT breakdown of the S.C. vote. There were two female candidates. Of all the votes Warren got, 5% were from men. Klobuchar got 2% from male voters.

    It's not sexism?

One of the dumbest, ill-timed announcements I can recall. It’s almost like she wants to get out.

Wow. That's incredibly depressing. Is this 1932?

Some of it, especially w/r to women candidates after 2016, is probably electability concerns. But it's also the case that the youngest candidate in the field did much better with old Democrats than young ones, and the oldest does far better with young voters than with the elderly. Combined with women candidates not getting huge enthusiasm from women (I think I saw around Iowa/NH time that Klobuchar was polling better among men than among women, though that may have changed later), and the African-American candidates not catching fire with African-American voters, and I suppose Castro not getting overwhelming support from Hispanics, it may be that the electorate isn't quite as hung up on identity issues as commentators think it is, or would like it to be.

Biden is the candidate to whom most Democratic voters had the fewest fears/objections (Sanders too radical, Warren and Klobuchar a woman can't win, Bloomberg too much like Trump, Pete, gay man who's very young). Since the overwhelming priority of those voters is to beat Trump, it is not surprising Biden has emerged as a plurality consensus choice among voters and a consensus choice among party officeholders. Plus, he is perceived as the most experienced at governance, which in a country dealing with a pandemic has a certain appeal.

I may hate this stupid hooker more than him. He at least knows he’s a scumbag. She, other the other hand, really thinks she’s something.

Right. He’s incurious about life in other places so why should you care about them?
