Deputies were ordered to delete Kobe Bryant crash photos to avoid discipline, sources say

Normally, such a complaint would trigger a formal inquiry and possibly an internal affairs investigation, strictly following the chain of command, the sources said.

Instead, in the days after the Jan. 26 crash, deputies were ordered to report to the sheriff’s Lost Hills station and told that if they came clean and deleted the photos, they would not face any discipline, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the events.

There is a reason TMZ had the story 2 hours before anyone else. TMZ didn't have a car following Kobe.

First responders obviously contacted TMZ almost immediately.

I'm always curious if TMZ keeps tax records of its payouts. I suspect it's a cash deal - but they still have to keep records right?

Yes, they have records. Of who they can trust and who they can't.

Woody Allen can’t get a book published and there’s not single allegation against him that has been proven. Kobe is an admitted rapist and he’s achieved martyrdom, sainthood, husband and father hall of fame.

    and the distinction?

Probably would be better on the MeToo thread. It is an interesting question though. Book publishers really don't care about the "importance" of a book - only that it will sell. So I can see why Allen's book was cancelled.
Whether you were sentenced to prison, charged, or just credibly accused and apologized for the behavior - there doesn't seem to be an specific way past past behavior besides time.

I don't think Allen's death would be treated that much differently from Bryant's though if he died today. You'd have his supporters and then you'd have people bringing up the "ick" factor.

You're wildly off base on that. People will line up to throw shit at Woody Allen's casket, and most don't even really know what he's accused of.

Have you seen the casts he's still been able to get for his movies? It's weird. And Woody's never been in a courtroom. I do wonder if Ronan Farrow being a part of the family might make people more hesitant, or there is more stuff that has come out besides his relationship with Soon-Yi

Woody’s death will be treated much differently, depending on circumstances. He’ll get the inverse Kobe treatment. His negatives will be played up and his accomplishments will be listed but The concentration will be on the ick factor. Even though there has been little to no credible evidence that Allen broke a single law or took a single liberty with an actor, actress or child. His funeral certainly won’t be a cross between The ESPYs and a Tyler Perry special.

woody was at the garden watching the Knicks long before Spike could spell Brooklyn. He’s one of the greatest director and writers of canine in history. Kobe and MJ followed his philosophy, you can’t score if you don’t shoot. Woody made a movie a year for 20-30 years, mostly his own original works.

woody will get railed at death. Do you know what the difference is?

No one could ever forget his work in What's Pup, Tiger Lily? and Shadows and Dog.
