Church was weird today. No holy water, no sign of piece, no wine. Attendance seemed a little down as well. Most times there is a global tragedy or worry, being able to come together in public - is a great healing or coping mechanism, even if its just going to a ball game. It would be great if we had a President who would take 20 minutes in prime time and give a solid update about the situation (like a normal President would do). Maybe offer reassuring words or at least provide enough leadership to give people confidence this crisis will pass.

Even in he did that, telling more truths than Pinocchio on a polygraph, would anyone believe him?

Crises are tremendous opportunities for Presidents. They tend to either make them or break them. Katrina broke W. Oklahoma City made Bill Clinton. The economic collapse made Obama. Trump flitting around playing golf wouldn't be such a problem if people also felt he had a firm handle on the coronavirus.

I noticed this at my Catholic church today, too.

And yeah, if our not-always-wild-about-science bishops and priests can offer a few common sense ideas and comforting thoughts about the coronavirus, you'd think our president could, too.

Rich people are probably going to lose a lot of money before this is over.

Rich people losing money makes them do horrible things to other people.

All the information you need is in your local supermarket's tabloids.
