    Dayton is ranked No. 3.

We've all seen some interesting teams rise up and down over the years but Dayton? No. 3?

Murray State was cute last year but this is even cuter. Dayton Flyers are No. 3.

I think they’re legit. I also think a lot of brackets are going to have them going out in the second round. (Mine will not be among them.)

ETSU will be the 11 or 12 seed that wins at least 2 games this year.
    Book it.

Gonzaga survives against San Francisco, 81-77, in WCC semis; should be enough to clinch a No. 1 seed in the NCAAs (they'll face either BYU or Saint Mary's in the WCC final).

If Florida State wins the ACC tourney, to go along with the regular-season league title, are the 'Noles a No. 1 seed? I'm thinking yes.

I don't know how they wouldn't be... but given the number of times I've seen good teams get shafted, who knows.

If the Central Texas Institute of Sexual Assault wins the Big 12, they'll get one to go with Kansas, Dayton and the Zags. I'm not sure the Noles' exclusion would be a terrible injustice in that scenario.
But I fear the Tar Heels, who could reclaim the title of the World's' Most Dangerous Band from Letterman's house band in the NBC days, might just win the ACC and make it all moot. They'll skate past the Hokies; obliterate a disinterested Syracuse team dulled even further by their coach's obvious aversion to spending more than 24 hours in Greensboro; and then get University-6. By that time, the University of No Consequences' fans will have bought up every ticket on the secondary market and packed the joint. University-6 will fall and its fans, who seem convinced the league is out to get them even though the ACC offered Louisville an incredible lifeline in the last round of conference roulette, will whine that the "old boy conference" screwed their poor team. Truth is, they have no business being in the league, but the ACC has treated them like kings.
Next: Heels dispatch Virginia -- if the Cavaliers are even alive by then -- because their luck has to run out at some point. Then it's down to a one-game showdown with Duke. Fatigued Heels and their fans against Devils.

The WCC is getting three bids this year, and I think it has a good shot for all three to win their opening games.

I might be one of the few people who actually saw Izzo play
He was the senior point guard for Northern Michigan when they played — and beat — Hillsdale. Hillsdale was 2-28 that season.
Izzo was just what you’d expect.
Scrappy, good passer and ball handler, made all his free throws and couldn’t shoot to save his life.
He was the coach at Ishpeming High when I got to Marquette. After one season, he took an assistant’s job at Northern under a great guy named Glenn Brown.
From there he went to MSU and the rest is history

Has an ACC team ever done that and not been a No. 1? If it was Duke or UNC and they didn't get a 1, Dickie V would spontaneously combust.

My U.P. memory is a bit faulty ... did Izzo play football at NMU, too? Or was he just teamed up with Mariucci on the Iron Mountain HS football team?
