Avoid the crash and trumpheimer’s. Warren is the new Hillary, beat it with last year’s newspaper

I dunno. Kaine wasn’t great in 2016, you could tell when he was playing something up to get a sound byte or when he had a pocket phrase to turn to when stumped. It may have solidified people’s impression of the Clinton machine as smarmy and uninterested with anything that doesn’t come with money or power in tow. Parts of it reminded me of a bad stand-up routine. It was the kind of performance a primary candidate has in November the year prior. That was my impression watching live anyway. Maybe it looks better in hindsight.

Yeah, Harris is going to be a tough sell to progressives as someone that is willing to sit at the table with them. I don't think it's a wise pick. If anything it brings up a lot of the people that pushed back against Hillary for the policies that led to this crazy incarceration imbalance. Really he needs to exercise caution with both of the prosecutors (Harris and Klobuchar). My belief is simple, the VP has to push a couple messages on the stump that the center and the left can all get behind easily -- voter suppression is one of those easy to digest messages that everyone is going to get behind.

And I wouldn't discount Biden choosing a man. It has to be right guy. But I could see Julian Castro in that mix. He's someone left enough of Biden that progressive will like his politics, but he and Biden worked in the same administration and Castro can hit on voter suppression, increase in minimum wage, protecting and expanding the ACA. etc.

Simply by being a black female she'll be plastered by Faux Fascist Noise and the right wing screech media as a raving lunatic radical liberal.

And much of the conventional corporate MSM will bark right along with them.

Weird, the board of Trump-supporting mediocre white men seem to think Klobuchar is an inspired choice.

Maybe this shouldn't be the case, but cops and prosecutors are generally quite popular.

I still like the idea of a member of the House of Reps or a former cabinet member. Don't want to lose a Senator. The sad truth is the Dems don't have much bench 60 or younger. While I don't like the idea of losing a Senate seat for even a day, Harris probably is the best option. Also opens up the Senate seat for Eric Garcetti.
And really, anyone who isn't a "squad member" will be seen as a disappointment to Bernie folks. Harris is rated just two slots back of Bernie in the most liberal Senator rankings, more liberal than Warren, and only less liberal than Jeff Merkley of Oregon, Sanders and Gillibrand (most liberal).

Trump will soundly win again. Wish I had taken the bet someone proposed to me last time around.

If you really believe this, now's the day to make the bet. Not gonna bet better odds than this afternoon. Set up a stand at the corner of Wall and Broad.

They won't nominate a Dem senator unless the replacement is guaranteed blue. That points in favor of Harris. I think Klobuchars seat is a little iffy.
