Here's my shoebox of receipts. Don't mind the mustard stain on that one.

I have a question about abortions that I can probably only ask on this thread.

I read about states various efforts to run abortion providers out of their states.

But 39% of abortions are now done by medication. If abortion is outlawed in Louisiana, or wherever, what is there to stop some entrepreneur from setting up shop in a state such as New York where abortions are legal and writing prescriptions off an 800 number. Or if not from New York then from a Canadian pharmacy? Aren't people doing that for Viagra now? What could Louisiana, or any other state, do to stop these transactions.

Maybe you shouldn't run for president.

Bernie has earned his one on one shot with Biden, his donors and volunteers have earned the opportunity to lay out his philosophy side by side. I don't think it will make much of a difference next week, but the jumbled nature of previous debates have somewhat muted their differing views. I do figure Biden will have to come up with something from Bernie's menu to "adopt" in order for a smooth exit for Sanders. Biden favors negotiation of drug prices, a public option - make the point that as long as everyone is covered, does it really make a difference whether it comes from taxes or insurance? Biden favors public financing for campaigns, he favors a financial transaction tax. He supports the Green New Deal. They both have student loan forgiveness plans, Biden's is more targeted.
Seriously, he's a lot closer to Sanders than Sanders would probably want to acknowledge.

That's part of the argument now in the Supreme Court. When pregnancies are terminated by RU 486 or whatever, why do the clinic doctors writing the rx need to be certified at a local hospital?

Always liked the idea of 10 year terms - you serve past the time of the President who appointed you, judges aren't elevated due to their youth, but due to their expertise. There is more turnover. Also like the idea of each nomination being "approved," unless the Senate rejects the nomination within six months to eliminate another Merrick Garland situation. (This should go for all Presidential nominees for various positions.

Doing the debate is low-risk for Biden. At this point in the campaign, all he has to do is appear semi-coherent.

If he forgets his own name, it's on a Sunday night. Few people are watching and fewer will read about it on Monday.

What the heck is Washington doing? They still only have 67% of the vote counted, and it is within a couple of tenths. If Biden sneaks out a win, that would have been nice info prior to Bernie's presser.

It really doesn't matter that much if Bernie even holds out to the convention, as long as he gets on board with both feet when he does.
He's gotta quit taking shots at Biden and aim straight at Trump.

Washington votes by mail and as long as a ballot has an election day postmark it counts. So there are still outstanding ballots. Same deal in California. Oregon is a vote by mail state, but ballots are due back by Election Day. Makes for a quick election night, usually done in two hours.
