Since the NBA shut down because of Rudy Gobert, and the Red Wings have played the Lightning and Hurricanes since Gobert and the Jazz played the Pistons at Little Caesars Arena last Saturday, I don’t see how the NHL can avoid a shutdown.
I was going to go see the Tigers and Phillies tomorrow but I can wait. They’re just exhibition games. I don’t know what MLB is waiting for.

I think you're underestimating a couple of things 1) How unhealthy we are as a population. 2) The extent to which even a non-life-threatening flu kicks your ass.

Even if the only people who end up in hospitals are the elderly and unhealthy, if half of that population ends up in the hospital, and 10 percent of those people die, that's a huge number. Then think about the worst sickness you've ever had. Food poisoning, flu, whatever. I bet there was a moment when you thought to yourself, "Man, I feel worse than I've ever felt before in my life. Should I go to the hospital?" You probably didn't go, because you knew it was either the flu or food poisoning. If this is worse than either of those, a lot of people are going to end up in the ER who may not have needed to go, especially given the hysteria.

 

The problems in China and Italy is so many people were in hospitals for the virus the doctors couldn’t treat the everyday things that come up because there were no beds.
