Cros on being a musician in time of Coronavirus. Yeah, he has a big catalogue, but no one buys records anymore, and streaming does not pay musicians to speak of. Musicians make money by touring.

In a general sense, musicians and artists often don't have insurance or much savings to fall back on. They live gig by gig, sale by sale.

News keeps dropping on various tours being cancelled or pushed back.

    This, exactly.

Wish people would realize that everyone buying six extra of everything, instead of one or two extra, is only going to cause supply demands that manufacturers and stores will not be able to meet in a timely manner.

Cleaning out, say, toilet paper (or rice, or Lysol, or whatever) will only make stores take a week or more to really rebound and have enough of an incoming shipment again. Buying more steadily, instead of ridiculously, would be manageable because most stores get merchandise deliveries every day, but not necessarily in huge quantities of particular items each time.

We finally had a good, sizable shipment of toilet paper come in yesterday afternoon, and began controlling it, bringing it out on the smaller L-carts (the flat dollies) rather than on the pallets (so people couldn't just grab them right off the pallets), with two people assigned to each L-cart, so that one, essentially, was the policeman, guarding it, and limiting customers to two packs, with us handing them out while customers lined up (almost from one end of the store to the other).

It was insane. And then, it was still all gone, within an hour. But the good part was, once people got their toilet paper, most of them left (after having to also stand in long lines at the registers, of course).

Maybe if better information had been shared with Americans sooner, we could have avoided the rush to stockpile.

    Maybe.

I went to Kroger with a specific short list today -- Budweiser, coffee filters and croutons. Was in luck on all three. But the fruit and vegetables section was just decimated. Obviously no TP. Rice/beans/pasta aisle just completely picked over. People are wack.

Just at the local supermarket. TP and other paper goods in decent supply. Limit of one hand sanitizer container per customer. Food supplies also OK. Lots of stacking going on, so I suspect they got a big morning delivery.

My Planet Fitness just closed - just when I'd made it a routine. Oh well. Better to be safe

I’m expecting my Golds to do the same. Not going right now anyway. Seems like it would be really hard to ensure equipment was clean.
