Muh Muh Muh My Corona (virus)

Damn, I just left. (Wifey gave me wipes and made me disinfect every day after service)

 

I've seen more than a few them celebrating the idea that covid will take out a bunch of boomers and get their greedy old asses out of the way.

 

Never heard that, but it makes sense. Two meds to fight the fever, and you're not raising the doses to the point of risking damage.

The rest of that, particularly buying advil/tylenol/mucinex and having it on hand, is solid thinking. If you do it now you can get what you need before those shelves start to look like the toilet paper aisle.

I had stocked up on most of my stuff Friday afternoon. After reading that, I decided to get things I might have missed and went up to Target. They were pretty cleaned out of most of the meds mentioned there. I did score some Tylenol-type store brand. TP was all gone. Some dude was buying a TV — talk about really preparing.

 

The schools in my state take spring break all at the same time, which happened to be last week when the shit hit the fan. In announcing their closings, a lot of them are labeling it as "extending spring break," so we've written that in most of the headlines.
The headline "Podunk School District extends spring break" is something I could only dream of seeing in the paper when I was 15. Now, it kinda sucks.

 

Not a great year to be a high school senior. Some schools are already canceling things like prom and graduation ceremonies. And of course, senior athletes are missing their final chance at playing high school sports.

Obviously there are more important problems out there ... but it still sucks to be the Class of 2020.

 

Nobody needs that kind of 2020 hindsight.

 

If this drags on into late April or May, I wonder if everyone will have to repeat this year? Some states have closed schools until mid-April.

 

Based on what I’m reading, I’m not commuting into NYC until Memorial Day.
