They sent me a notice to do it online. Once they get the initial addresses tallies, they send people out to knock on the doors that didn't respond. And then they'll hit the temporary lodgings, RV parks, homeless camps, under freeways shelters, people living in cars to get a fairly accurate count. Get numbers from prisons and group homes, treatment centers, hospitals...

You could have picked anyone at random off the M14A crosstown bus and found a better president.

    Interesting ethical question in this.

In a time of medical emergency - and a shortage of tests - should someone be able to pay more to get tested, or should the tests be distributed on the basis of need and medical priority?

    When you're talkin' to yourself
    And nobody's home
    You can fool yourself
You came in this world alone
    (Alone)
So nobody ever told you baby
    How it was gonna be
So what'll happen to you baby
Guess we'll have to wait and see

    Yep.

A virus once fought by the human body should be able to be defeated by the human body the next time it sees it.

That’s why I think after eight weeks the world just says fuck it and starts walking outside again and meeting in groups.

As I start thinking about the death rate per age group, what would terrify me and the world is if this thing started killing the young, mid 20s, like the Spanish Flu did. And we never beat that fucker. It just mutated itself after a year and a half and went away.

Indeed, we can appeal to the universal "need" standard.

I need it most. No, *I* need it most. Fuck you, *I* need it most. Hell no, *I* am most in need.

Two great watches to wrap your head around what a virus is.

Which makes the case that disinterested medical expertise should have the final say in who gets tested when.

Sad but true, when celebrities like Durant and Tom Hanks get the virus, it is one of the most effective means of letting the general public know the situation is serious. So the Durant test, while ethically questionable, was also good for public health.
