Sanders is the Confederacy in late 1864. It's not a question of if he loses, but when. He needs to come to his senses, swallow his pride and just quit so the party can start focusing on the real enemy.

    Tweener-
I don't necessarily like Biden's agenda. I think it is safe enough to win. That is the target.

The funny thing about the platform is that it is already closer to what Bernie advocates for - universal health care, protecting and expanding Social Security, debt-free college - than Biden does at this point. At that was drafted for the 2016 platform with Hillary. The platform is kind of a joke anyway, always thought it was the "spirit award" of political conventions. Hey, you got that platform plank!

Having Bernie continue could be a good thing, keeps Uncle Joe on his toes and the energy in the campaign without threatening the actual nomination.

I’ve also heard people say that it’s good for Bernie to stay in to keep his supporters and other progressives engaged. Most of them don’t like Biden or Trump, but if you keep them interested in the process long enough the hope is that they’ll warm up to Biden and help him win in November.

Most of the stuff I see online is Bernie people going through the seven stages: Right now they're in between the anger/bargaining phase and depression phase. Having people saying they should just give up and "Unite!" doesn't help things. Time will heal, and the more of a disaster Trump is will allow Biden to say - Bernie, if you get it through the Senate I will sign whatever you want.

Without the ability to have his ego-centric rallies where he could go scorched earth on Biden, there isn't much harm in letting Bernie hang around at this point. He knows he isn't going to win but he can continue to raise money to eventually give to his progressive candidates in places they might have a shot of winning. They were able to dump Lipinski in Chicago tonight.

The Sandernistas aren’t interested in unity
They are doubling down on their anti-Biden memes and articles
That’s why Bernie has to end this
    But he won’t

My guess is that the Biden camp, using AOC as a go-between, will propose a mutual suspension of campaigning for the next month as a joint response to the virus crisis. That would give Sanders time to ponder the inevitable without looking like he was being pressured to drop out.

I would say it is especially tough on Sanders voters this time because they really can't blame "the establishment" or a rigged system. They know their candidate was rejected by a majority of voters. I do hope the Sanders coalition stays active, fills some seats in the House and Senate. For all the talk trashing socialism - ubercapitalism doesn't have a great track record the last 12 years.

Biden can get air time anytime he wants. Sanders is a Senator. They don't have to hide, they just don't have to run ads or fly around the country.
