i was actually going to defend Trump's use of the "Chinese virus" until I learned that there is zero evidence the Spanish flu of 2018 began in Spain. Most experts point to Kansas. It was named the Spanish Flu because it became global news when it hit Spain. Viruses are "unspinnable" and seeing Trump flailing about with excuses and blaming others like those clowns he used to abuse on the other side of the table on The Apprentice is kind of sad. I'm hoping this "episode" ends the same way.

 

It is epically sad that Trump-who was always a bigoted clown who shouldn't have even been allowed in the White House in a tour group (he would have pocketed anything he could)--had so many voters and cowardly senators stick with him through every damn misdeed.

 

I'm quickly reaching the point, for my sanity's sake, where I'm only going to check in on the virus news like twice a day. It's exhausting and depressing to keep up minute-by-minute developments, and honestly, it's probably really unhealthy.

The US is currently at 114 deaths. The epicenter of all this is at 3,237, and its numbers are barely moving now. They had ONE new case in Wuhan yesterday.

For however bad it is . . . it's pretty darn countable.

If Vegas ever reopens, I'm taking the under on countless. I'll also take the under on the ridiculous 2.5 million US deaths figure someone projected the other day.

 

Probably trying way too hard to find humor in my first world problems, so I sympathize. Going to go learn more about being self-sufficient. Not at prepper level, just learning to make some things mah own damn self.

 

I agree about the under- but I also firmly believe the only way you collect on the Under bet is by pushing such a high number it freaks people out enough to at least imagine the worst and comply with health advisories.
