They were also able to totally lockdown their society, which on that level likely won't happen here. And now that they are coming out of it, does it come back? That's the next question for them.

That's the part people are missing. This social distancing/quarantine situation has to last until a vaccine is widely available - otherwise it does no good. You flatten the curve now, but you have to keep flattening it until the vaccine is ready.

Can well all just tell the President, "Hey man - closing travel from China was basically the greatest move off all time, and will be looked upon by history as the biggliest decision any president has ever made, so you and your media cohorts on Fox don't have to bring it up every other breath."

 

It will also be good for people to know that the illness/situation is recoverable, and when celebrities like Hanks and Rita Wilson improve and get well (as I believe they are on the way to doing), that is also good for public health and well-being.

Notoriety (of celebrities, and an illness) can go both ways.

 

It doesn't matter how old you are, how much you work out or if you're vegan and nice to old people. If the hypoxia is severe enough it will lead to organ failure.
