I hope it works for her! Those substitutes might be mostly for making small amounts for cooking as opposed to drinking neat from the glass. Alton Brown is a great source for food tips and hacks as well as the sciencey stuff.

Slightly OT and BTW, the late Deb Duchon, the nutritional anthropologist who would pop up every time Brown mentioned her, was a very entertaining speaker. I think some of her presentations are still available online.

Gotcha. You're right. But I think I just meant things need to improve, quickly. And they do, or else there's going to be a lot of problems that probably will be even more serious and far-reaching, for more people, than the actual health issue.

There isn't a pothole or Chick-fil-A on I-40 between Nashville and Wilmington I haven't visited.

I am less I-40 now that they have the Monroe Bypass up and running. It cuts about 30 minutes off my drive.

Just set up a tee time for 2:30 tomorrow afternoon, walking 18, of course. Club's director of golf tells me the tee sheet is absolutely slammed tomorrow. I didn't mind waiting until later. Looking forward to the diversion on what's supposed to be an 80-degree afternoon.

Good for you! Courses here don't open until April 1, although if you go down to Cape Cod you can walk on the public courses. They usually have an honor system paybox in late winter. Yesterday I went in the backyard and hit wiffle golf balls with my most lofted wedge. Silly fun.

Precautions in place at most of our courses:
Carts limited to one person; walking encouraged
Encouraged to play with flagstick in and retrieve your ball with your gloved hand
Clubhouses mostly closed, same with restaurants/bars. All food/bev through the beverage carts
    Driving range access limited

I haven't swung a club outside of TopGolf since last year. Don't care. I'll be doing plenty of social distancing out in the woods.
