Burr once voted against banning insider trading as a member of Congress. He was one of only three to do so at the time. He also used information on the 2008 financial crisis, which he learned as a member of Congress, to direct his family to withdraw all money from banks. Sadly, this isn’t a new low for him.

Burr, Inhofe, Loeffler, etc etc etc/....no bottom to the GOP corruption. I will very much enjoy watching the party burn alive for this.

Yeah. Me too. If Burr resigns, the Democrats get the seat by fiat. I can't see that happening.

Santucci’s sources close to Trump might be Tucker Carlson - not Ivanka.

Don't go crazy on Newsom. He came off very well tonight, but he has done plenty to screw up this state. People are shitting on the sidewalk in his beloved San Francisco. He did nothing about homeless until two days ago when Coronavirus funds became available.

I get the complaints about the homeless in California. I'm there often enough to see what a problem it's become.

So... what's Newsom supposed to do about it? Because short of "Turn prisons into warehouses to involuntarily commit the mentally ill," I can't think of a single damn thing that would make a dent. And I'm not really down with the prison thing.

He is doing something about it now, but it took this pandemic to kick his ass into gear. He is not the savior. There are plenty of screwed-up things in this state.

Exactly. I’ve lived in the Bay Area for 50+, over 30 in SF, I worked directly with the homeless in law school, the problem is not easy and it’s certainly not just drugs and mental illness. The problem is we all take our extended families for granted. Imagine nobody in your life, no mom/dad/wife/sister/brother, not even a cousin or good friend to ask for a simple $5 for an official ID so you can get welfare. That’s the plight of a lot of homeless.
