You can also throw in Ron Johnson's spot in Wisconsin -- he's another who is being questioned about the same thing and would be replaced in the general election this fall.

Texas' population is nearly 30 million, probably a little more than that.

As of Thursday, 2,335 have been tested. But since that number was 200 on Monday, I guess it's an improvement

If that is the case, then she needs to prove it ASAP with sworn statements from both she and her husband, as well as their financial advisors. It is entirely possible that she and her husband keep some/all of their holdings in a blind trust given their positions and wealth and it could just be a smart advisor accurately reading the pending crisis. But the burden is her. Burr needs to do the same.

Even "third party" investment advisor isn't a good explanation. Most of those "wealth managers" treat money like it is long-term, "over time, bond and equity prices go up" money. They don't try to time markets. They more shift how money is allocated.

If that is her excuse, I want to see all the times that her advisor was selling millions of dollars of equities and putting her into cash. I guarantee, it wasn't happening.

    She's full of shit.

The only way Burr resigns is if Roy Cooper loses the NC governor race in November. McConnell won't allow Burr's replacement to be named by a Democrat governor.

If Mitch thinks Burr threatens more Republican losses this fall, he'll push him under the Capitol trolley himself.

Tillis' NC seat is up for grabs in November, and Cal Cunningham is polling pretty well. I hope to goodness it flips. Cunningham isn't running against Burr, but he sure as heck needs to campaign against him.

During the worst pandemic in more than a century, the Republican Party tried to keep it quiet in order to not anger their boss in the White House. And they got rich doing it too. Vote Democratic. For a change.

BTW. ... Right now the Federal Reserve is propping up the money market funds a lot of regular people have their savings sitting in; those people think they are risk free. That is about $4 trillion. They are frantically pumping freshly created money in, to keep the net asset values from falling below $1, at which point people will take capital losses on those funds. When that happens it is called "breaking the buck.:

The fact that THIS isn't a story is demonstration of how much they have fucked up our financial system. When we have had scares like this in the past, it was a HUGE fucking deal. And interventions in those cases, didn't require anything near what they are doing right now.

They will then turn around and act like they saved the world, but they CAUSED this, and then their cure is more of the disease. Fuck them.

Seriously, the ads are writing themselves. If the Democrats find a way to fuck this up ... well, I don’t even want to think about the consequences of that.

I completely agree that it seems that way, and most wealth advisors specialize in long terms strategies and securing excellent tee times. But it isn’t out of the realm of possibilities for her to prove that this was innocent.

To be clear, I would be appalled at any congresscritter in either party who pulled this shit.
