It's not nice to say so, but I hope that it is a fast acting and extremely painful cancer, say inoperable rectal cancer.

    Holy shit.

The Fed just announced that it is going to make a $1 trillion in daily repo a DAY available for the rest of the month.

This is in addition to the dollar swaps, the QE, the announcement to buy short muni bonds this morning, etc.

They have lost all control. ... and they are going to destroy everyone's savings and make the dollar worthless before they step away and stop "fixing" it.

    1) The Fed launches "temporary" repo operations in September after a spike in overnight funding costs. ... to deal with a small "plumbing" issue. A mere $75 billion of liquidity injections. But no worries, it's a small problem, this will be temporary.
    2) Beginning of October, Powell says they are going to end it on November 4.
    3) A few weeks later, the spikes are getting bigger, and Powell announces that they are extending it to head off "year end funding issues." And just for good measure, we are going to do short-term T-bill purchases to expand the balance sheet even more. The final price tag (just through year end, because they didn't end it at the end of the year)? $425 billion. But DON'T call it quantitative easing. It's NOT, I repeat, NOT QE! And we're ending it January. All is well!
    3) The equity market smells free money -- call it whatever the F you want -- and stocks start grinding higher day after day, as the Fed feeds the casino with free money. Under the hood, the funding markets continue to degrade under the weight of 12 years of exponentially increasing leverage and margin and debt ready to implode.
    4) January. ... Oh yeah, forget the whole "temporary" thing. Going to continue indefinitely. But nothing is wrong. . ... Tens of billions of dollars more per day.
    5) Skipping the trillions of dollars of liquidity intervention over the last 2 weeks, including the repo bazooka they pulled out first, but today. ... $1 TRILLION a day in potential repo liquidity injections through at least the end of the month.

How does that make the market stable? There IS NO market. They spent a decade destroying it, which is why they could no longer suppress yields. Now? They are the only buyer, a good chunk of that debt is distressed, and they are creating money out of thin air to buy debt that is never going to be repaid.

    All is well.

    Fuckwits.

This is the part that is overlooked because everyone is focused on the money. These guys knew what was coming three weeks before the shit hit the fan, and did nothing, even less than nothing, since they were saying everything is fine, to prepare and also to warn people.

Part of the reason has to be that he is so visible. And that is probably why he is so visible

One poll today, an Ipsos poll for ABC, did so. Don't use the Hill as a source of information. Ever.
