Yep. When in doubt, take another swing at the pinata ...

And definitely keep the blindfold on ...

Trump relies on chumming the waters of his base - if they get demoralized by Coronavirus, he's got to give them something to cheer.

I am not David Stockman. But this could have been me. ... not a thing he said in this interview is wrong. I don't think this was actually on the air, it was a web thing. This is what they would be giving their viewers if they weren't such a joke.

If you cancel 1/12th a person, family or small businesses biggest expense it’s a big help

Right. But if this thing last several months, and unemployment keeps rising, as expected, canceling mortgages for a month isn’t going to be anywhere near sufficient.

I just defriended a guy on FB, a guy I knew through somebody else when I was writing, so losing him is no big deal. Why? With all the shit going on in the world, his screech today was something like "I'LL ASK AGAIN. WHY ISN'T HILLARY IN JAIL?"

    There is no hope ...........

And he's gonna hand out $1,000 checks. That's worth far more opinion points than his visibility.

Yep. Virtually irrelevant to most people. But it'll buy plenty of stupid votes.

When relevant, this is probably the most powerful benefit of incumbency. In times of crisis, you get to be front and center. You get to issue executive orders and serve as the face of a common effort.
Interesting that GWB's approval numbers went to 90% in the aftermath of 9/11. I doubt Trump will get that high.
