There are some dipshits on my Facebook feed who are arguing this is getting blown out of proportion or we're not going to accomplish anything with the shelter in place. One particular moronic moron even posted a video from a "doctor" saying this is more or less a scheme to prop up pharmaceutical companies. And by "doctor" I mean a chiropractor. I called her out on it and she gave me this spiel about how this is the government's way of forcing vaccines on us. I had a snarky retort that only led to more dumbassery but it goes to show how even when it it's getting very real, it won't hit home until some people are begging for a hospital bed.

 

Hate to say it, but some herds cry for thinning.

Yeah, nothing like a good old fashioned plague to clean out the shallow end of the gene pool. Old people too, it will hurt short term but Medicare and Social Security need help with their funding issues.

 

I've gotten to the point that I seldom engage with idiots on Facebook. Over the last week I'm putting up one solid and well reasoned post a day, mostly encouraging people to listen to the science. That's pretty much it. I'd like to just delete FB, but there are so many people that I'd be hard pressed to relate with otherwise.

 

If he was in CA he'd be skewered by the Labor Commissioner and the court of law; not sure about the other states. There are some good things about CA besides sunshine.

 

I live in Alabama. I have low expectations because that's the statistical norm here. We have Governor Granny, and not in a "tough old bird" kinda way. Leadership isn't part of the package.

 

I usually am better about engaging with idiots on Facebook (especially after I got banned from a neighborhood watch group for giving shit to a moderator) but it was late and I couldn't sleep. I wish I could say alcohol was involved....
