Good thing Biden has experiencing inheriting messes. Seeing how well Cuomo is being viewed as handling this thing makes me realize how out of whack our politics are. By all measures he should have been a leading candidate for the Dems this time around, but he didn't have a viable constituency within the party. You see this on the GOP side as well. Rhetoric and the ability to excite a crowd and attract a chunk of voters is seen as being a bigger plus than the ability to govern. For all the crud "the establishment" and the smoke-filled rooms of days gone by get - they did give us all four of the faces on Rushmore. (I realize Teddy Roosevelt wasn't elected, but backroom dealings got him on the ticket.

It looks to me like a number of sectors are in danger of just that collapse. If we think instead of making policy by industry lobbyist, we can reset some things that badly need it. I agree that it will take a lot of effort. OTOH, this is going to be very bad, and I think that there are going to be a lot of angry voters as well as a lot of dead ones.

He's still doing it when he phrases it that way. It's not that he does not want to embarrass Trump, it's that he knows that if he does so enough to anger Trump he'll get sacked and lose the bully platform.

If Pelosi and the Democrats block or slow down the stimulus package because they don't like some of it, they're making a huge mistake. Here we are with the economy in meltdown and politicians still got to be politicians.

No. The idea is for a bill to help the most people possible. Ideas like letting much of the money be a Trump slush fund is unacceptable. It's theft masquerading as policy. In McConnell's original draft, persons making less than 40K a year got no assistance. How is that acceptable? Short answer, it's not. Compromise does not mean surrender. Oh, yeah, the bill includes nothing, zero, zip, the goose, in aid for hospitals. Fuck that and fuck the people who wrote it.

Tagline: This moment calls for a president. In November, you can elect one.

Understand what you're saying but it's moved on since the initial proposal. The way it stands now is everyone making under $75,000 would get an equal amount.
