They're covering it because he's the President of the United States of America addressing a pandemic that's unprecedented in the past century. It's kind of important. The fact that the president is a moron is immaterial.

It has fuck-all to do with antitrust worries.

It's almost like the length of the press conferences and the topics included mirror that of a rally, which he now can't hold multiple times a week

Bullshit. They know what the score is. An hour and a half of him talking to us like Tony talking to Dr. Amalfi? That's not news. Just tell the truth. "The President's remarks have stopped being newsworthy. We now return to your regular programming."
I will say that if I were the head of the actual Republican Party, that is, if I was Mitch McConnell, I'd bribe/threaten the networks to stop covering these appearances. I don't think they're vote getters, and they are going to get worse as he deteriorates in the face of something he knows he can't handle.

    And you're wrong.

The value of these things is diminishing dramatically. To suggest they are airing them because they are terrified that Trump will be angry with them for not carrying them and will go after them legally on anti-trust grounds? Pure silliness.

Is there anyone in the Cabinet with the brains to see what is going on and the balls to start the process to exercise Article 25?

Just wait until everybody who was at CPAC/CPAP has had a chance to be tested. Then he'll find his klan suddenly lacks a majority. Hello, remote voting!

If I were in charge of a network, I'd be terrified that the first time I declined to air it, something truly outrageous or historic was said.
