Thom Hartmann is the world's oldest Bernie Bro. But on this I do not disagree.

Of course, he's not actually campaigning for president, but whatever.

I'm sure he'll show up if there's important stuff to work on.

Hartman can’t be an authentic Bernie Bro. He occasionally reads and has informed takes.

If it were a proposal worth voting for, he’d have shown up. It takes 60 votes for their poo-poo proposal to pass, so I don’t see the incentive to fly to D.C. to vote no while the country is on lockdown. But let the outrage ensue.

With respect, apart from competent leadership right now that delivers on what we truly need to fight this crisis, we need the people to look and see a continuity of government that gives us the impression despite how bad things are we are still a society. An invocation of the 25th without the president being truly incapacitated would throw a level of fear into the country we don't need. Let's get rid of Trump with an election. Then our democracy soldiers on and our 230-year Kabuki Theater carries on.

And of course that's all moot considering everyone in the cabinet is too scared of Trump to pretend they are working for the country.

And I have no love for Trump but it was good to hear him try to tell the people we are strong Americans add will prevail. It's 48 hours too late. Should have said it when asked originally but it's something. Someone got in his ear.

Then he was snarky about Romney so he's still an unrepentant asshole. So there's that.

Why? I'm not being specious. I really do not understand why this person incites so much fear. Is there a real wizard behind the curtain? At what point does someone with some agency say, "This is America and we don't act that way?"

I think anyone who could have did that has been fired. Those left are true ass kissers. He has real power and real sway over a portion of the electorate. Guys like Pence I think are fully bought in. Others, the senators who should be pulling the leash, are afraid of electoral backlash if they stand up. These are really messed up times without real checks on power.

And they’re doing the best they can to plunge us into a dystopian future.
