So you want to believe what he bankrupt "Negotiator" in Chief says ("its a hoax" "its under control") or do you want to believe the expert who's devoted over 50 years to studying viruses?

Virginia schools now closed through the rest of the school year. Essential services can stay open with more stringent requirements for cleaning, etc. No shelter-in-place order .... yet.

It’s shocking how smooth and well run his conference is compared with the clown show.

I'm really going to be interested in seeing how people can be ordered to quit working from home when their kids are out of school starting in March. It's one thing to have a summer break. There are camps and activities and trips to grandparents and other things to occupy kids while the parents work. Now? All that is gone. So how do you say remote work is over, when the government has said it's not safe for kids to go to school?

This is super important for my job ... are golf courses included in the "recreational" facility heading with bowling alleys, etc. I can't find a clear answer.

I guess ask your boss and if he or she says you can stay open, wait to see if state troopers show up and shut you down.

Well, it's not that simple. We're staying open and working from home. Our physical office is already closed. But if the golf courses cannot stay open at a limited basis, it completely changes our messaging to our membership.

I was mostly kidding, but that sounds less than ideal.

Any governor's press conference I've seen - California, NY. Virginia and others - are better than the DC shit show.

The schism that's coming our way in the next few weeks will be unlike anything we've seen since 1865. The handwriting's on the wall...Trumpist governors will roll back the lockdowns, while the sentient governors will insist on keeping theirs in place...and each day, each week, that's going to be harder to do. Will California close the border with Arizona? Will Illinois lock down?

Shitstorm can't even begin to describe it.

Texas has closed schools, restaurants, etc. statewide, but the governor is thus far unwillimg to go further. Some county governments have gone a step further on their own and ordered shelter-in-place.
