I wouldn't be shocked to see him threaten to withhold aid to states that don't go back to "normal" when he decides.

How states where they've announced schools are closed until the fall will do that is beyond me.

Again, that's straight to court, and even with this Supreme Court he loses. If he does this, and some Republican Governor is stupid enough to go along with it, the pictures of the corpses piling up in emergency departments will make it clear what a political disaster this will be. Or if like the epidemic spreads to, oh, I don't know, Publix truck drivers say, and food and other goods supplies do straight up stop in some city like Tampa or Savannah.

Just a reminder that Fuckerburg was sitting on 720k face masks while the hospital with his name on it was begging for supplies. Happy posting!

I've always thought the "Right track, wrong track" poll question is the dumbest that is still asked and deemed by some to be relevant. Here's proof.

Direction of Country Monmouth Right Direction 39, Wrong Track 55 Wrong Track +16

National pandemic emergency, economic meltdown - "Everything's Awesome! More, more, more."

Anyone hear anything from Hat Guy lately?

Perhaps Ragu would be the best person for this: But at this point, what is the "pathway out." Is the market situation the equivalent of a forest fire - something you manage to limit loss, and just know that time will be needed for recovery - or is there something that can "reset" the market? Does it need to find it's natural bottom? Or would it be better to focus on companies, sectors and industries, and let the Dow do what it wants.
I think one of the things people are concerned about is the big boys gobbling up federal cash and using it to buy distressed companies at a discount, like what happened in 2008. Personally, I'd like to see a "bottom up" approach taken for once, to see if we get a different result.
