Terrence McNally, one of the 20th century's great American playwrights, has died from complications of corona virus in Sarasota.

COVID-19 is going to burn across Florida like a biblical scourge. Say a prayer.

Look, senior citizens have to be ready to sacrifice to jumpstart the economy.

God told them to stay open. I guess He also told them to slash paychecks as well.

Meanwhile, President Orangeface wants to see isolation end, vulnerable dead and churches packed with potential victims on Easter Sunday.

I read the Gov’s order for Palm Beach County. I read the releases from the Village of Wellington. I am not a stupid person. I can’t figure out what the rules are where I live, much less know what they are in other counties and municipalities in Florida because every jurisdiction can come up with its own policies. The Gov required non-essential businesses in PBC to close until the end of the month. Our local mall is closing except for restaurants offering takeout and the Dillard’s department store. This was in the Village’s last release like our elected officials think Dillard’s is essential.

Last report had 100 cases in PBC, three of which are in Wellington (Population around 64,000 not counting the winter horse people). Three deaths and seventeen hospitalized in the County.

I'm bad at math, so forgive me if I'm way off. But looking at about where trackers are today and with the numbers of cases and deaths still multiplying by two about every three days, by Easter the U.S. is looking at something like 334,000 cases and 4,500 deaths. If that holds true, and doesn't get any worse, but sort of think based on other places deaths may go faster than that but it's still like 1.3 percent fatality rate, is that cause for concern for anyone who matters? Or is that nothing to see here? I'd assume at that point we still wouldn't be looking at a flattening of the curve either and probably 10s of thousands in the hospital. That's also all in about a month and a half. Business as usual, though, by then?
