Not a new strategy at all. It took about an hour and a half for the faux sympathy after 9/11 to start being replaced with "scary home of foreigners and nonwhite people, all of whom are dirty and rude."

You are 100% correct. It's their endgame, clear as day.

What you and @Michael_ Gee are missing is that the SCOTUS is now working hand-in-glove with the Trump Administration and the rest of the kleptocracy. They won't follow legal precedent any more than the Senate is doing.

No. The Supreme Court, as President Andrew Jackson first noted, has no army. It's willing to enhance the President's power against Congress, but not against itself. They use federalism to advance the cause of big business as they use the First Amendment to advance the cause of radical Christian heresy. They cannot throw away a weapon. What if a Democrat gets elected? They invoke the 10th amendment, he points to their decision last year, and says fuck you, find an army.

If I was Gavin Newsom, I'd send a convoy of California National Guard trucks and troops to El Paso, roll up to the hospitals and pull all the ventilators at gunpoint, like these bad-ass teenaged soldiers did to the grocery store! Then swing by Phoenix and grab a few hundred more.

The Trumpfascists are acting as if there's no possible way in the world they could lose the election.

    Hmmmmm.

Your faith in American institutions is refreshing.

Tell me again how Justice Merritt Garland would vote?

One truth that FATUS cannot run away from and will steamroll him,

his mistakes are no longer shown in loss of dignity, loss of jobs, but are now going to be reflected in .....THOSE INFECTED AND DEATHS.

We will not forget nor forgive.

Republicans always act that way. Mitt Romney acted that way. The only one I remember who was a loser and knew it was Bob Dole.

This is not faith in American institutions. It's faith that profoundly self-interested men will act in their own self-interest to maintain and maximize their own power.

Your presupposing they see their power lies within the SCOTUS, and not within the Republican Party. I suspect you are wrong, but I hope you are right.

Pfft. Mitt advocated a lot of shit I didn't like, but he didn't do shit that could get him dragged to prison for the rest of his life if the opposing party took control.
