Muh Muh Muh My Corona (virus)

I'm not saying you don't treat people as if they have it while the test is pending, but you still do the test.

When I was waiting on my test, that is what we did. My symptoms weren't bad enough to require hospitalization, so they sent me home. I remained isolated until I got the results. If anybody has enough reason to be tested, we should be assuming they have it until and unless the test comes back negative.

 

Ok. There was no link to an authority or an article. My first thought was "Yeah, they're working on vaccine". I didn't mean to sound snippy.

 

All good, I understand. I just think we need to be hopeful. There are so many smart people trying to dope this out.
If only they could function unimpeded.

 

I try to stay hopeful. It's hard. I know too much. It's like living on the coast and seeing something suck all of the water out to sea. You see and realize that the tidal wave is forming, but have a sinking feeling that you can't run far enough fast enough.

I picked up pizzas tonight. I forgot to put on my gloves on the way out the door. I got there and carefully hooked the door open with one finger. Picked them up, bumped the door open with my butt and got in the car. Halfway home I caught myself touching my face with that finger and wondered if I had just killed myself or my family. That's not a comfortable feeling, you know?

 

I mean this in the nicest way: A piece like that isn't helpful. I'm not sure I agree with it, for nuanced reasons. For two, I think the NYT editorial board is simply not an effective vessel to communicate such a message.

 

The only thing I’m hopeful of is that Trump burns in a vat of acid while his family watches. Too hateful? Too fucking bad. Blood on his hands.

 

What's a more effective (and halfway conceivable) vessel? Rupert's Wall Street Journal and Fox News surely aren't going to do anything to thwart Trump's plans to compare himself to Jesus on Easter Sunday.

 

I dunno. Not sure that one should be coming from journalism in general.
