Great song. But that was about an actual nuclear bomb being dropped, not the apocalypse.

We might have to start a top 5 for Neil Peart song lyrics. That one is among many to consider.

What the hell ... in honor of Neil Peart. RIP.

    top 5 Rush song lyrics:
    1. Red Barchetta (which Peart has noted was inspired by a short story, "A Nice Morning Drive," set in the future)
    2. Subdivisions
    3. The Pass
    4. Red Sector A
    5. Manhattan Project

There's really dozens of songs that could go here. This is off the top of my head, I'm sure I left some obvious choices out.

The last two are from the first two Rush albums I bought (and their show on the "Power Windows" tour was the first rock concert I attended).

No offense to David Lee Roth, but these songs were a bit deeper than "reaching down, between my legs, to ease the seat back ..."

Interesting picks. "Marathon" is one of those deep cuts many people overlook because it came during their "heavy keyboard" phase. As mentioned, I still love Power Windows.

My top 5 Rush tracks ... at the moment:
    1. The Spirit of Radio
    2. Bastille Day
    3. The Trees
    4. Freewill
    5. La Villa Strangiato

Just missing the cut: "The Camera Eye." As I get older, side two of "Moving Pictures" keeps getting better and better.

Thing is, given my music preferences, I have zero problems with keyboards/synths. No, Geddy Lee isn't fractionally as good as Tony Banks on the instrument(s) ... but he's a bassist first and foremost.

The 7/4 bridge in "Marathon" is sublime. The buildup to get back to the chorus is more than decent.

About "Moving Pictures" ... "The Camera Eye" deserves its kudos. "Witch Hunt" is worth it if only for "Quick to judge, quick to anger and slow to understand .... ignorance and prejudice and fear walk hand in hand." "Vital Signs" is good in its own right, but one of the tracks has to be 7th out of seven tracks on an album.

About Rush as a whole ... a lot of competition for five spots. Makes their lists of five tricky.

Trying to think what was the stressful thing in 2015 that triggered this thread. Then I remembered the ride down the escalator.
