The big conservative talking point is that Pelosi was encouraging people to support Chinatown businesses in late February.

I should have been a bit more specific. If the virus is confined to urban areas such as Atlanta and New Orleans, Trumpists in SEC country and elsewhere will be giddy. Not all people will be giddy. I apologize for going overboard. I do believe, however, that the evidence points to Trump's desire to let blue states die.
“The Campaign Panicked”: Inside Trump’s Decision to Back Off of His Easter Coronavirus Miracle

Trump also grew concerned as the virus spread to Trump country. “The polling sucked. The campaign panicked about the numbers in red states. They don’t expect to win states that are getting blown to pieces with coronavirus,” a former West Wing official told me.

    RE Pelosi's visit.

Chinatown pretty much decides who gets to rule SF. You've got your libs, the LGBT community and you've got your uber-wealthy and old-timers who liked the City better the way "it was." Chinatown can be swung this way and that, usually between a liberal politician and a less-liberal politician. You don't get anywhere in that city without Chinatown, probably the most effective political machine in the city. Look up Raymond "Shrimp Boy" Chow.

I thought that show that was set in SF "Murder in the First" really missed a chance to dig in to organized crime and it's involvement with SF politics. Heck, Jim Jones and People's Temple swung the election of George Moscone back in the '70s. Jones was a powerful political force as well. And Willie Brown started his political career as the original Saul Goodman, representing all types. Always had a lot of respect for him though, worked as a janitor to work his way through SF State and Hastings Law.

I look at this virus like a war.

In the first battle we had zero intel and were not equipped to fight it. Seriously, when this started, we were like two Russian brothers in WWII with one getting the gun and the other getting a bullet. We also had pretty much no idea how this virus works or any defenses for it.

In the next wave, hopefully, we will have more information or not fuck around so much when it starts to rear its head. We might have a vaccine and some people might be immune to it since they have had it before (sweet God, I hope you can't keep getting this over and over with added strength). We also will start making fucking ventilators like bullets in WWII and buying out some box stores away from places about to under (Best Buy, Gander Mountain) and turn them into COVID-19 clinics.

We had the intel. We chose to ignore it. We didn't get to be number 1 in cases by accident. Decisions not made are decisions themselves.

Who has the MOST information? The freakin PRESIDENT. Who has the CIA/CDC/NSC under his/her umbrella? THE PRESIDENT, not the Speaker.

Hey folks, go review your 8th Grade Civics books.
