To better explain Iowa — while there is no formal "shelter in place" order, the restrictions put in place by the governor are pretty much the same as any other states. The "essential" businesses are open. Schools are closed, churches are closed, no more than 10 people at a gathering, etc.
In my town, every store is closed except the "essential" ones. In my county, and in the four surrounding counties, the total population is almost 112,000 people. The five counties have had 13 confirmed coronavirus cases, with no deaths. In my county of almost 40,000 people, there was one confirmed case, and that person self-quarantined and is fine.

 

That number could easily top a million in three weeks, even if we reach an inflection point where new cases start to slow.

I agree. I think Florida is going to see more than 100,000 deaths.
