    @2muchcoffeeman, that's great.

    @lakefront, you have to take care of yourself and your family. I know some people have gone crazy with the hoarding, but you still have to get what you need.

    Hoarding is like the lady who got hysterical when she saw me get four cartons of unsweetened soy milk last...February? Things weren't even that bad yet and people were already getting squirrelly. (Really? Civilization...Kroger...Ah miss yew!)

    "What is that? Does it keep? Why do you have so much? Should I get some?"*

    Pop-up fact: I usually get two gallons at the first of the month because the stores here get non-dairy milk when the distributors char the scapulas of their meat animals and they crack the right way and a young male who needs to do a manhood ritual makes a run to the outlying counties. THAT'S why there were two gallons in my cart. ::sigh::

    I told her to get a small, shelf-stable carton and try it to be sure she and anyone else she was feeding would like it. She bought four gallons that have to be refrigerated.

    Week five and counting here. I feel really grateful for being able to work from home.

    I was out Thursday night for about a half hour. Wore a black bandanna cowboy style. Felt like quite the badass.
    I'd guess about half the shoppers had them (or some kind of face covering) on.

    I'm on a schedule of about one trip a week-- usually I go early mornings during the "senior hours."

    U.S. 'wasted' months before preparing for virus pandemic

    A review of federal purchasing contracts by The Associated Press shows federal agencies waited until mid-March to begin placing bulk orders of N95 respirator masks, mechanical ventilators and other equipment needed by front-line health care workers.

    I wore a mask when I was out at Target yesterday but there's no way I'm wearing one when exercising. They're not comfortable and they're extremely hard to breathe through.

    The irony being of course the recent popularity of the elevation mask, the new training hotness, which is supposed to improve aerobic performance.

    I pulled an old cloth neckwarmer up over my nose & mouth & ears on my run this morning. Worked ok, though the area it covered felt warm & humid after a while It helped that the neckwarmer is fairly thin. About a quarter of the people I saw had some sort of face covering, noticeably more than on Friday. No groups, but several apparent pairs of friends walking together, most of whom were 6 feet apart.

    You can also wear a second, sleeveless t shirt under your regular t shirt, and just pull it up over the nose. You need sleeveless because otherwise it’s too tight around the arms, at least one of my first tries was.
    Million $ idea: make a shirt with added fabric at the top that can be pulled over the nose.
    Does anyone have turtlenecks any more?

    I'm not going to wear a mask or bandana or turtleneck when I go out at 6:00 am to walk the dogs, or go jogging with one of the dogs at 6:30. Sorry, I am not.
