Here is why I'm pumping brakes. This has been in the news for months and other than a few odd reports, there is not enough smoke at this time to yell fire.

That could change tomorrow, but everything I quickly saw kept pinning it on cats.

Now if a person is carrying the virus and pets a dog, walks away from the dog, and my kid pets that same dog? I'm guessing my kid has a pretty good chance of getting it.

It’s worth noting this is typical twitter. The doctor wasn’t quoting a single hospital, but some vague reports of 2 folks in NYC and a person in Detroit.

She made it seem as if it were one hospital.

Here’s what I meant: If the official in Illinois had been late, Trump would have impounded all the gear and intentionally diverted it to places that love him regardless of their relative level of need. When this is over, we will see that he had his evil hand on the scales. I don’t want anybody to die.

I do think the media (fuck I hate saying that term, it's so broad and encompassing) would be wise to remind everyone that 80 percent of these cases end up being mild. I do understand sharing the stories of the front line and the ones who have gotten the worst of this. But the majority of Americans--even if they get it--will not suffer the same fate as the worst-case scenarios in hospitals.

(*Not trying to downplay social distancing. It's important and it works. But I'm starting to get the feeling that fear is in overdrive right now and it might be time to mitigate that.)
